Hard Candy

Hard-cracked flavored candy makes a great treat and gift for the holidays.

Ingredients
2 cups sugar
1/2 cups white corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/8 tsp dash of salt 1/8 t
1/8 tsp powdered sugar
Food coloring
1 TBSP cinnamon oil
You will also need pie pans or candy molds, candy thermometer, plastic bag and a spoon

Directions
"Warning this mixture gets very HOT" Mix all ingredients (except food color and oil) in a large 8 qt. cooking pan. Cook until candy thermometer reading is hard crack or 300°. Take off stove. Mix cinnamon oil and a few drops of food color in HOT candy. Pour into pie pan. Put in freezer or in a cool place. After completely cooled place in a zip lock bag, sprinkle powder sugar (keeps from sticking) over candy on both sides. Close zip lock bag and beat with the back of the spoon. Prep time: 10 minutes. Cook time: about 20-35 minutes. Makes one pound. This is great for all holidays and gifts. Enjoy!
