Pork & Apple Burgers
I love to take something small and make it stretch. I like to make my dollar scream. I take two small boneless pork ribs and grind them like ground beef with apple and sweet potato. This makes 6 pork burgers.
Ingredients
2 small 4 oz pork ribs
2 small apples, cored
1 medium sweet potato, peeled
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp kosher salt
Directions
Remove excess fat from the rib while partially frozen and cut into bite sized cubes. In the bowl of food processor add 2 apples, cored and cubed along with cut up sweet potato. Grind this until the pork is a coarse grind. Mix in the seasonings and lightly mix together. Shape into 6 patties of equal size. Grill or pan fry and cook for about 3 minutes per side. Remember the pork must be 156 degrees when cooked. Serve with your favorite burger ingredients. I use sauted apples instead of tomato. I always do this with a grainy bun also. This is so good.
