Savory Meatl Loaf
Prep: 15 min.; Bake: 1 hr.; Stand: 10 min.; Cook: 5 min.; Makes: 6 servings
Ingredients
1 ½ lbs. ground beef
1 can (10 ¾ oz.) Campbell’s Condensed Tomato Soup
½ c. dry bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1 sm. Onion, finely chopped (about ¼ c.)
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
¼ c. water
Preparation
1. Thoroughly mix the beef, ½ c. soup, bread crumbs, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce and black pepper in a lg. bowl. Place the beef mixture into a shallow 3-qt. baking pan and shape firmly into an 8x4” baking pan.
2. Bake at 350˚F. for 1 hr. or til the meatloaf is cooked thru. Let the meatloaf stand for 10 min. before slicing.
3. Heat 2 tbsp. pan drippings, remaining soup and water in a 1-qt. saucepan over med.-high heat til the mixture is hot and bubbling. Serve the soup mixture w/ the meatloaf.
