2-Ingredient Peanut Butter Fudge Tips

Why is my peanut butter fudge grainy?

If your peanut butter fudge has a grainy texture, you may have heated the candy coating for too long. As you melt the candy coating in your saucepan, stir constantly so it doesn’t scorch. Make sure that you use a creamy peanut butter to keep the fudge smooth, too. You can even make your own homemade peanut butter if you like. If you’ve got leftover peanut butter to spare, use it up in one of these delicious ways to use up a jar of peanut butter.

Why won't my 2-ingredient peanut butter fudge harden?

If your peanut butter fudge is not setting, it could be that your fudge mixture is not getting hot enough or not being cooked long enough. If it's really soft, you can try to reheat it. Bring it slowly back to a boil, then try again—it should set more firmly this time.

Can you add chocolate to this 2-ingredient peanut butter fudge recipe?

If you’re craving chocolate (and who doesn’t love the classic chocolate-and-peanut butter combo?) you can easily substitute your favorite chocolate morsels, or even chocolate frosting, for the white candy coating. Of course, you could always whip up a batch of rich chocolate fudge, too.

Should you refrigerate 2-ingredient peanut butter fudge after making it?

It isn’t always necessary to refrigerate fudge. Fudge recipes can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks or at room temperature for 2 weeks. Whichever way you choose to store it is up to you. Check out more advice on how to make fudge.
