Calorie Challenge: Snack Mix

Regular snack mixes can be heavy on the butter & peanuts. But you can easily make your own tasty & smarter option. In the recipe below, Classic Snack Mix Makeover, the reduced amount of nuts & butter in a traditional recipe & replaced some of the overall cereal content w/ fluffy popcorn. All told, you can save 60 calories & 6 g. of fat vs. the traditional snack mix. That's a yummier idea, indeed!
Classic Snack Mix Makeover

Ingredients
3 c. Post Spoon Size Shredded Wheat Cereal
1 c. sm. pretzels
1/2 c. Planters Cocktail Peanuts
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
Toss cereal w/ popcorn, pretzels & peanuts in lg. microwaveable bowl.
Mix butter, Worcestershire sauce & seasoned salt til well blended. Drizzle evenly over cereal mixture; toss to coat.
Microwave on HIGH 2 - 3 min. or til cereal is crisp, stirring after 2 min.
Makes 14 servings, 1/2 c. ea.
