5-Minute Move: Standing Squats
Want a great lower body workout that will get you ready for shorts weather? The squat is one of the most effective exercises you can do -- it works the glutes, hamstrings & quadrieps muscles all @ once. Try doin a set of 10 whenever you have a moment to spare.
Step 1: W/i reach of a wall or countertop for balance, stand w/ feet shoulder-width apart, toes forward & arms outstretched.
Step 2: Bend your knees as though you're going to sit down. Don't let your knees pass in front of your toes as you descend. Return to the starting position & repeat.
Handy Helper: Repeat the above movement, but use a chair as a guide for how much you should bend down.
